Books for Life libraries serve children in Nicaragua from Trees for Life on Vimeo.

Books for Life helps rural communities in Nicaragua establish libraries. In 2005, it helped establish the first library in the small town of Tisma. The next year, there were five libraries. It became a movement, and by September 2010 there were 51 libraries. There is a growing demand for many more libraries.

On October 7, 2010 a Library Conference was held to coordinate various library initiatives in Nicaragua. Several organizations and 170 librarians participated in networking and workshops. At the conference, Books for Life pledged to help provide 1 million books over the next 10 years in Nicaragua.
